Bio

Mr. Md Rakibul Hasan, a compassionate individual, began his academic journey as a lecturer in law at Z.H. Sikder University of Science and Technology in March 2024. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, starting in the fall of 2024, where he also serves as a Graduate Assistant. Additionally, he is an enrolled advocate at the District and Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka and is completing an apprenticeship in the High Court Division under the guidance of a senior advocate.

Academic Background:
Md Rakibul earned both his graduate and post-graduate degrees in law from the prestigious University of Rajshahi, where he developed a profound understanding of a wide range of legal subjects, including the Constitution, Criminology, Human Rights, Muslim Law, and Intellectual Property Law.

Leadership & Voluntary Work:
Outside of his academic career, he was president of the Rajshahi University Association of Law Finders, a student-led organization dedicated to advancing legal education. Furthermore, he founded the voluntary organization, Lotus-Bud Charity Forum, which focuses on community service and social justice. His remarkable contributions to volunteerism were recognized when he received the National Voluntary Award-2023 from the UK-based organization VSO.

Career Perspective:
With rising global crime rates, Md Rakibul believes that a comprehensive understanding of criminal behavior is critical for crime prevention. He is dedicated to studying the underlying causes of criminal activity and the mindset of offenders to mitigate crime effectively. He aspires to become a policymaker and academician, contributing to developing a safer and more just society.

Research Interests:
Md Rakibul's research focuses on critical issues such as youth involvement in gangs, juvenile delinquency, domestic violence, and cybercrime.
